Why am I so against generative AI in games? Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

Replaying “Jedi: Fallen Order.” And absolutely floored—again—by how incredible the voice acting is in this game! It’s so good! Perhaps you’d find it strange that a video game about healing from trauma would be a comfort-game for me, but it is. A masterpiece telling with such heart and humanity. 💕

I just feel numb. Two of my friends lost homes to these fires already. An aunt and uncle forced to evacuate. Two of my dear LA buddies, in whose home I’ve spent countless hours pouring over art and cocktails, also fled—still uncertain if they’ll be able to return. How do you grieve or help now?
