Last night's gig - Inspiral Carpets at the Liquid Rooms. There's good reasons why older bands can still sell out venues. They have cracking tunes and they can still rock the joint! Good to see a local Fife band, The Castro's, doing a great job as the support act.

A clip came up on my feed of a band playing a cover version of a song. Took me back to my youth with a cracking drum beat and guitar riffs. I then realised it was a Gary Glitter song and I cringed. Still a cracking tune tho.

Such a privilege to be at Edwyn Collins final gig of his UK Farewell Tour at Queens Hall. A great set of songs accompanied by a superb band. With Edwyn there is so such thing as low expectations! Support from The Hanging Stars was very good too.

Incredible Idlewild! Only a 50-minute album launch gig, but boy, did they pack in a pile of great stuff. New as well as older. Roddy, cool as ever, as Rod and Murray (standing in for Allan) crashed around the stage. Short but very, very sweet!
