It's been a heavy year, and while 2025 still has a few weeks left, we're feeling reflective. We're so thankful for our patrons, Friends (yay, Friends! ftpml.org), a new building, good books, and did we mention our patrons?? We really love y'all, Takoma Park ❤️

Did you know that all of the tables in our main reading room were made by a local artist out of trees from the original building site? Shoutout to Treincarnation for crafting pieces that are truly stunning at all hours, and especially when sunlight comes through the clerestory windows.

The Friends of the Takoma Park Maryland Library book sale will open shortly for Friends members (you can join on the spot for early access!) and at 10am for the general public. Come get some books this lovely morning! Proceeds directly support library programs we all know and love ❤️

The Library will be streaming the National Cathedral's live feed of Dr. Jane Goodall's funeral if anyone would like to gather to recognize her legacy in a community space. November 12, 11am in the Program Room.

Question: Now that NaNoWriMo is gone (RIP 😭), are people still planning on doing National Novel Writing Month this November? And, more importantly, who would be interested in a midnight write-in at the library on November 30 to get that final wordcount??
