A funny moment in my game last night when my opponent was intending to promote but there was no spare queen available. I knew promoting was a mistake so I was desperately trying to help him find a queen before he changed his mind! I got a winning position but lost later anyway!

I drew both games at the 4NCL weekend, against a ~2260 and a rapidly improving ~2060. I never felt I was in big trouble but I also failed to identify the brief moments where I could've played for an advantage and decided to play it safe. Room for improvement!

I met Fausti at the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships in London (June 2025). He has an unbelievable talent and he will soon become a GM, which is just the start of his career. He will also be at the next Olympiad 🇦🇷 and I hope he will have great results in the future
