side note I've been regularly seeing 2-5 players at pretty much every NPC Trainer as I've been working on these, at varying times of day/night, which just underlines to me that pet battles are STILL popular and many players are going around engaging with them it's frustrating to see them sunset

Webbers seems to be hotfixed now. It was probably caused by a "HideFromJournal" flag that even suppressed the reward message when completing the achievement.

2026 State of Azeroth pet summary: Nothing on Pet Battles. But new upcoming charity pack that includes a (battle??) pet, Rufus. They want to add ability to include player companions roaming around housing, but didn't sound like they have any kind of timeline for that. Guessing it's low priority? 🤷
