which guys? probably not the 9 owners who exceeded the luxury tax this year. there’s nothing forcing these teams to spend — they like the competitive advantage they can buy with the current system. a salary cap is as much an inter-ownership battle as it is an owner-player battle

still a strong believer that it’ll be fine in a couple years, but for the next three, the nats missed the boat with the espn bundle and given the environment and how likely the team is to suck over that window they’re just not likely to find an enthusiastic short-term partner
