"Celebrated" my 51st birthday today with my 4th visit to the ER this year. As broken as I am in body and heart, I pray to begin the next year of my life holding onto the audacity of *some* hope.

Being a marginalized person from the deep south has always felt like being abandoned twice: first by our own corrupt conservative politicians, then a second time by liberals who think we deserve to suffer and die for being born in the wrong place.
