It seem strange to me when westerners fret about the possibility of a country like, say, Iran having nuclear weapons. Because the only country that’s ever been so reckless as to actually nuke anyone is the USA. So really, they’re the only ones we know can’t be trusted with them.

Really, I think very few Americans grasp how much impact their country and politics has on the wider world. I think very few people in the wider world grasp how hard it is to quickly (or legally) change things inside the US. I think very few people anywhere grasp just how much worse it can get.
