My 14 year old and hundreds of other kids were among those tear gassed by ICE yesterday in Portland.

Let’s remember: the call for this general strike came from student groups & young people. It’s their work together that made today possible. If you’re a “grown up” acting like you know how to do this better, please just SHUT UP and SHOW UP. All of us have something to learn.

Just finished this excellent book by @lalouverouge.bsky.social. Hard to not see one's own childhood in the text. Watching the state-sponsored violence toward children in the Twin Cities, I can't think of a more pressing political project. Now fueling up (dried fruit & ancient grains) for next read.

Targeting children is a well-worn strategy of state repression. It works by further isolating the networks of care that keep children safe. It demands a total refusal of this logic: we are all each other’s responsibility.
