Sunday will be poignant for me. I will pray for Andrew, Bishop of Bangor for the last time as I lead prayers. He has been a good pastor to me, and that most of all is what I ask of my bishop.

I was in Liverpool the other day. I was fascinated by the many and varied padlocks on the quay. I now know they are love locks. I thought they had been placed there as acts of penitence for the city's part in the slave trade. I am so up with modern ways of doing things.

39 years ago today, I entered the Voluntary Evangelism Base of the London City Mission, and stayed for 2 years. I was staying for 2 weeks. It was amazing. I spoke in public, knocked on people's doors, sat with homeless people, chatted to teenagers and grew up.

Went out and met Mr. Heron. You have to be still to see some things.

Praying for Gregory, Cherry, John, Mary and Dorrien: Bishops in the Church in Wales. One will be called to be primus inter pares over the next couple of days and become Archbishop of Wales.

Humility, vulnerability, collaboration, and trust are hallmarks of Christian ministry. Andy John had these gifts in abundance. I will miss him as Bishop, and so will the Church in Wales

Going to the farewell service of my bishop this evening. A distinguished ministry, and so sad that it ends in the way it does. I am sure history will judge the ministry of Andrew John very kindly indeed.

I am not particularly adept at pastoral work, yet I am increasingly convinced that it is crucial to the growth of the church. The ability to actively listen is a sacred act and one that is profoundly attractive.

Peter, on the day of Pentecost, could have spoken in Greek. Overwhelming majority of those listening would have understood. But everything that is important should always be spoken in the language of the heart. This is why learning Welsh continues to be an important pt of my Christian discipleship.

BREAKING. St Mary’s Church Tower in Conwy is to be completely replaced by a glass construction following the design of Roald Dahl, architect. The new tower will allow pilgrims to see for miles around. No objections are expected to these plans.

Praying for mums who are step, adopted, foster, and birth. For mums whose children who are adopted or nurtured by others, and for mums whose children have died, for mums struggling to keep everything together and dads who are being mum as well because children have no mum.
