Watched The Fifth Element. Wanted to enjoy it as much as I probably did when I last saw it, at the cinema in 1997, but I struggled to get through it. I can see its appeal but I found it a bit incoherent. And weirdly, despite Leeloo being key to the plot, she is kind of ignored! Oh well. #filmsky 🎬📽️

My grandparents' house, which I've not set foot in for 25 years, is up for sale. Looking at photographs of it on Rightmove has stopped my afternoon in its tracks. I wish I could go in again and have a look around, but I'd need to be able to prove I can borrow £425k in order to do it 😩

Criterion releasing K Pop Demon Hunters is a net benefit for everyone - those who like the movie will get a really good home release of it, those who don’t care about the movie will benefit from Criterion having a certified money maker that they can use to help fund more obscure/niche releases

Listening to the diaries of Helen Garner at the moment and really enjoying it. Her vignettes about life have an unflinching honesty and vulnerability that's really arresting. Then in an entry I heard today she mentions going into a bookshop in Sydney that my uncle's partner owns! Gosh. #booksky 📚

Marty Supreme the other day was fantastic, I must say. It was a full house too and a great cinema experience. It took me a good hour or so and a cup of tea to calm down afterwards. I only regret that I went on my own because I didn't really have anyone to chat to about it afterwards. #filmsky 📽️🎬
