If medical appointments stress you out even when you have kind, supportive health care workers, communicate with them in advance to come up with strategies to mitigate that stress. Good HCWs want to set you at ease, and it's easier if they know what's needed in advance. 🖤💙😷🥄

You shouldn't have to ask health care workers to mask up properly any more than you should have to ask them to wash their hands. You're right to be frustrated and concerned by their apparent lack of basic medical hygiene and science comprehension. 🖤💙😷🥄

Asking your friends for specific help does not make you a burden. True friends are eager to help and are often unsure about how they can, so giving them specific requests alleviates their stress and yours. If it's hard to ask, start with very small requests. 🖤💙😷🥄
