On Sunday Lucy , the Head Gardener (Chamberlain Highbury Trust) will be leading a walk around the grounds to tell us about plans for the restoration of the gardens. Meet by the house at 10.30. Please wear suitable footwear for uneven ground.

At this time of year you can see the silver birch trees glowing in the woods near the house. I believe they are known as the seven sisters.

If you are in Highbury in the next couple of days stand by the the little playground near the car park and look up . In the sunlight the trees on the skyline really are this colour yellow!

A huge beech tree at the end of the big long pond has fallen down blocking the path. You need to walk round on the grass if you're going that way today.

There are some beautiful autumn colours appearing in the park.

The new overflow pool near the entrance to the park is becoming populated with self seeded bulrushes. There are dozens of Poplar seedlings on the banks.

A crab apple tree near the old Henburys wall. This is one of the trees that was donated by the National Trust for their blossom trail .

As late summer begins to turn into autumn - Highbury is glowing with autumn crocii at the moment

Corn marigolds and cornflowers near the stream. The marigolds were planted by @bbcwildlifetrust.bsky.social five years ago and have suddenly reappeared

An artichoke gall on one of the oak saplings near the road entrance to the park. It's caused by the Andricus wasp which lays its eggs in a leaf bud.

The new pool next to the park entrance is filling up with water. Imagine it with grassy banks and bulrushes - a new playground for the heron!

This pretty little flower is Cuckooflower or Ladies Smock.

Our beautiful Handkerchief tree is in full bloom with its gorgeous white bracts - have you found it yet?
