Dr. Head of Geography. Love researching and lesson planning. Always dreaming of travelling 🌍
When your flight home from Tokyo gets rerouted due to a volcanic eruption you just know that is going straight into a lesson 😂 Took 15 and a half hours!!! 🌋

One of my former students has contacted me to tell me that he wants to do a Geography degree ❤️ He has asked for advice on his contenders. I can only really cover Exeter. Does anyone have any info on Manchester, UCL, or Reading for Geog? Thanks 🙏

Visited the Snowhotel in Kirkenes yesterday. It will be finding its way into the geog curriculum - either an amazing place for year 7, or extreme tourism for year 8! (Can I claim the cost on the geog budget?!)

When you’re deploying your basic level French and getting smug because you understood the response vs the panic that comes when you don’t understand the response 😂

A year 11 told me today to try and sort out the dentistry situation in the UK by encouraging the migration of dentists. Evidently my PhD on migration gives me superpowers according to them 😎

Started the paperwork for the year 11 fieldwork trips today. Even though I’ve been teaching all 4 groups since November, the thought of having to lead 4 days of trips is a bit 😱 Always split the days in the past.

Went to the pool to loosen up my back, and then spent an hour driving the final 5 minute stretch of my journey home - along pretty flooded dirt track roads - due to flooding 🤣 Back hurts again and now I’m also stressed 🤣🤣🤣

When the ceiling sprouts a water feature over the computer in one of your classrooms forcing lessons to be re-roomed. I need to write a book about this year because it has been madness

A very, very cold day in Luxembourg made easier by being able to jump onto a tram/train/bus/funicular as public transport is free here!

Getting into quite a rhythm when it comes to the daily grind of teaching, then prepping for my own lessons for the next day, setting cover for another teacher and setting cover for my classes that I can’t teach as I’m covering year 11 🤣🤣🤣
