Just watched the #DoctorWho episode “Lux” and I clearly have a type. Like “The Devil’s Chord” I mostly sat there smiling, sometimes open-mouthed at the brilliance and (my overused word) audacity of the whole thing.

That was a near thing! Got to Russell Sq and waited 20 min for a Heathrow train. Which was packed and I couldn’t get on. Then another just didn’t come. In desperation I got on an Uxbridge train to transfer later… and my train became Heathrow bound. Waltzed through security and boarded just in time!

I’ve always been scared to post this: The Happiness Patrol is my absolute least favorite Classic Who. When I was a teenager, it made me angry; no other story did that.

Brubeck was my first jazz hero, and it always tickled me to hear his music in ads and as TV themes. I think it’s only a UK phenomenon, I don’t remember any such thing happening in the States?

In the last couple of days I have revised and edited two print projects to be released in the coming months. One is an interview I did about my Dudley Simpson transcriptions, and another is an essay I wrote about the great man. I’ll let you know when they come out!
