I'm writing a sci-fi, post-apocalyptic novella called "Invasion of the Greys". It's where aliens come down to earth and take it over by enslaving and killing humans. And what's fun is it's totally Y2K. Takes place in '99, It'll have hard drives, big cell phones, and be very 'sleek' and chrome.

I'm very picky with horror-but the #EvilDead remakes are amazing. I love the tension, the disgust. I'm not always in the mood for them, but when I am? I'm always glad I see them.

I asked Jordan Peterson, "What time is it?" That was 4 years ago. He's still talking. "What is TIME?" "What is....what?" "What do you think what is, when it's reliative to that what structure?"

Thriller covers have become a bit samey. The stories are unique, and I love Vince Flynn and Gregg Hurwitz, but many covers feel like variations of the same template.

Re-watching "Guardians of the Galaxy"...wow. My cousin had never seen it (he's usually a fan of drama / art films, and even he found it delightful.) I've always loved the concept of 'the found family.' The visuals are amazing too. James Gunn is a brilliant writer and director.

Disclosure Day- Alien movies are some of my favorites. And this is totally one of the best. It mixed two themes well. The 90s paranoia thriller, something straight out of "X-Files" and a sort of deep message of empathy. It has that Spielberg vibe that only he can bring.

I found a copy of a book entitled "Of Granite and Tigers" by Jean-Charles Soucy. He was one of my school psychologists who passed away in 2023. He was kind, encouraged my writing and creative outlets. RIP. 1948-2023

Badh (Agent Zero) While the film had a bit of a slow pace (sometimes a little boring) the action scenes here were really good. Very tactical. More like a Tom Clancy story. I prefer this type of action instead of big expolosions.

Re-watching all "The X-Files" with my dad. And I remember watching the show when Netflix had mail in DVDs. I gotta say, a lot of the stories still hold up really well. And I can't help but think part of my love of strong female characters came from Scully.

A reminder that if people had voted for the old woman in the pantsuit in 2016 trans girls would probably still be able to play in girls sports and that kids of all gender statuses wouldn't be at risk of some salivating pervert trying to strip their pants off in a penis hunt.

Dolly (2025) Directed by @rodblackhurst.bsky.social, I knew right away this was shot on 16mm film. And that intrigued me. While horror isn't really my thing (it used to be!) I really got a lot out of this nasty flick. Part Barbarian, part old, horror VHS tape from the 1970s. A true 'video nasty'.

Writing, film, drawing, consenting kink culture, is a safe way to explore concepts that are not safe or morally accepted. The idea that things have to be morally pure are idiots who don't look into themselves or society. They want to live in boring little worlds of conformity.

Equilibrium (2002) So full of chrome, trenchcoats and slow motion action scenes, and it's so entertaining. Yes, it's a bit of a rip off of "The Matrix"-but I still enjoyed.

Watchmen walked so #TheBoys could run. It took the idea of 'superheroes being bad' and it made it more tangible, less wordy and a lot more entertaining, in my opinion. The cast was amazing, the stories interesting, the gore FX astounding.

There's a tendency among sci-fi and fantasy writers to mistake information for story. They'll spend fifteen pages explaining: The history of the empire. The migration patterns of the moon lizards. The tax structure of Sector 14. Meanwhile the protagonist hasn't done anything yet.

I would LOVE to write Disney #Gargoyles fan fiction. But the temptation to write a self insert is so strong. Like to me, it feels....boring if I put myself TOO much in my stories. I scatter myself in all my characters, but I don't know. Anytime I wanna write Gargoyles it feels...off.
