I'm super happy that the University of Bern has given me the trust and is expecting to keep me on board until the end of days, a.k.a. to give me tenure. I'm grateful for having the privilege to study and teach what is close to my heart - climate impacts on ecosystems and the global carbon cycle.

5. A big part of the problem, ironically, is that natural regen is much cheaper/free, so there's less money to be made from it. There's an industrial lobby which profits from planting grim rows of trees in plastic tubes. There is no industrial lobby profiting from letting nature do its thing.
