Once you’ve created a dialogue, expand on those ideals by using relatable metaphors or connecting their ideas to shared values you might have with them, encouraging discussion of things that might impact those beliefs negatively 3/

An easy way to open a dialogue is by asking open ended questions. Giving the opportunity for self reflection by asking questions like “how important do you believe it is for people to have a say in decisions that affect them?” And “what qualities are important in keeping a society fair for all?” 2/

Trump is a problem, that’s irrefutable. But what’s equally concerning is that so many people across our nation hold the same hatred and prejudice in their hearts. We need to start by addressing that.

Common Authoritarian tactics include, but are not limited to: inciting or approving of political violence, rejecting democratic principles, questioning the legitimacy of those opposing them, deliberately dividing a population, and instilling fear as a method of control.

Our country needs fresh minds. We need everyday people who’ve experienced everyday problems. Even if you don’t think you have anything to contribute, you do. Starting late is better than never starting at all.

People aren’t born hating their neighbor. They’re taught to through fear tactics, lies, and manipulation. If we cut off their false narrative, their web of misinformation falls apart.

When it comes to a movement, every little bit counts. Whether it’s sharing your voice, sharing a post, sharing your time, or sharing your money, contributing to a cause you believe in will not go unappreciated.

In these next years we must remember to have compassion for everyone. Especially when the current administration is showing compassion to no one. Standing together and building a solid foundation is how we will get through this. Together, not divided.

Spreading disinformation isn’t simply delusional, it’s also dangerous. Allowing people to believe fallacies that directly threaten the safety of others is unacceptable. This cannot continue
