Trump says America doesn't need the oil from the Strait of Hormuz. But, the world does. Also, fertilizer goes through there as well. This is why this war has destabilized international markets and driven up gas, oil, and food prices.

Trump is now asking American allies to "take the Strait" and "protect it" and buy oil from America. He said the Strait will "open up naturally" once the conflict is over. The Strait is already open, and Iran is making deals and selling oil -- just not to America.
