After 3357 git commits worth of prototypes I've finally found one that works. Started turning it into my first real game today. Rather excited. Expect gameplay inspired by FF Tactics, revolving around the concept of RPG parties. Also some roguelike bits, modeless controls, and visuals like below.

We started working on backpack attachments system (twin cannon, missile launcher and mortar) and today I've been focusing on the missile attack and missile flight paths. Started with a simple projectile arc and then randomising it with some swirls and other magic. #gamedev #mecha

The missiles are starting to feel pretty good. Sometimes they look a bit out of control but I think that's fine. I reduced the amount of vertices in the flight path which gives it a bit more sharper turns. Helps to give it slight Itano Circus -style vibes. #gamedev #mecha #vfx

Oh boy, Caves of Qud consumed most of my year end vacation. It's definitely one of the best games I've played recently. So difficult to put down.

That was quick. Got the 5 consecutive wins on my second try. Machamp with Brock and Onyx carried me through the event. First tried with Dugtrio instead of Onyx, but needed something more tanky to be safe. #PokemonTCGPocket

It was refreshing to barely touch a computer over the weekend. Now I'm debating whether to leave both my laptop and NUC at home in Singapore when traveling to my parents' place in Finland for the holidays.

I've enjoyed creating these open source palette tools recently (github.com/davidwdev/fr...). I've no expectation they will be widely used but it still feels good to know one day they might be stumbled upon by someone who needs them - much like I've experienced with other open projects myself.

Cool stuff today! Made a new crosshair that looks less accurate (laser sight is nearly pixel perfect and is meant for precision aiming), made some blood splatter particles and proper hit detection/hp system. Also added some random audio for atmosphere. Im happy! #Godot #indiedev #gamedev #solodev

One year ago I got my brother a Fujiwara Takumi AE86 Trueno figure as a gift. I accidentally got him the unpainted version, so now I’m figuring out where to get the paints for it. Luckily, there are a few #gundam / #gunpla shops nearby. I should go ask around.. (I never bought paints before)

Made it to the credits in Shiren 6 and now starting the post game stuff. The 3D style is generally OK, but I miss the pretty pixel art of 5. The OST is also a bit less memorable. Also, I feel like 5 was handing waaay more preservation pots compared to 6!! Where are my preservation pots. >:I
