Just learned my 80’s crush @dianefranklin.bsky.social was in a TV movie with my favorite actor Bill Paxton that I’ve never seen or heard of and my mind… is… BLOWN. Looks like it’s on YouTube so I’ll be adding it to my list of flicks to watch ASAP.

After reading @nicoleamaines.bsky.social Bad Dream and hearing there was a biography written about her, I immediately ordered it. Can’t wait to read about her life and what she had to go through.

Spirited Away may be the best animated film ever made. That list is short for me. Aladdin, Akira, and Spirited Away. Movies that astonish me every time I watch them. Still. After all these years.

Growing up I fell in love with Jim Valentino books like normalman, Shadowhawk, and Guardians of the Galaxy. I was blessed to become friends with Jim. He sent me a normalman trade which I just pulled out and found this Captain Everything he drew for me. Solid guy.

Edgar Wright’s The Running Man 2025 is easily his worst film. It’s just kind of stupid, boring, and basic. Shame. The cast is good and Glen Powell is a great actor. But it pales in comparison to the much surprise 1987 film. Arnold’s film was just so much fun.

Watching David Harbour’s Violent Night. Fun Santa Claus action film - I like it a lot on the rewatch. I’m totally in love with Alexis Louder. She’s great. If you’ve never seen her in Copshop I very much recommend that film.

Today’s my 50th birthday. Officially old. But I asked friends from around the world to send happy birthday videos and I love the response. Makes me feel a bit better for my first day in my 50s.

Seventh Christmas flick: Red One - a great holiday action flick with Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans trying to save JK Simmons Santa Claus. Good buddy movie that delves deep into Christmas mythology. Really like this film the second time around.

Sixth holiday movie: Elf. It’s a pretty great Christmas flick and Will Ferrell is outstanding. He really sells the film.

We were promised a Buckaroo Banzai sequel. While everyone has aged out, I would love to see a new BB movie whether it be a legacy sequel with new actors or a BB reboot. Must be Wild and crazy. Plus Bree’s two things.

@terrymooreart.bsky.social - I was trying to buy the 1/2 price softcovers of the series (to replace my individual volumes) but they aren’t coming up 1/2 off, even when in cart. Not a big deal as I don’t need them … but I WANT them.

Watching the documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story and it’s making me tear up a bit. So sad what happened to Reeve but I love how he continued to hope for a cure to his paralysis. I guess I can cry on a Friday night.

You know what’s a great Paul Dano movie? Little Miss Sunshine. That was a heavy hitter cast and Paul shined in it (pun intended) while barely speaking most of the film.

My YouTube wrap up came and two of the top 5 that I watched in 2025 are channels that I watch/hate watch. Not sure how I feel about that. They aren’t awful channels by any means but def are very right leaning which I’m not. Trying to figure out what this says about me.

Asked for Metroid Prime 4 for birthday/Christmas and can’t wait to play it. I do still need to get to DK but I’m having too much fun still playing old Switch games. Any Double Dragon Gaiden fans out there?

Fifth Christmas movie: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - a wonderful Shane Black / Robert Downey Jr Christmas movie. All the Shane Black tropes rolled into one awesome flick. Been too many years since I’ve seen this. Like meeting an old friend after so many years.

Watching Painkiller - the Netflix show about OxyContin. Not as good as Dopesick but still great. After working six years in a doctor’s office, this really makes me look at drug reps in a different light. Not saying they are all bad or anything, but they really do push these drugs for money.

So happy the Atari 50 collection dropped this Namco Legendary Pack DLC. Playing early version of Dig Dug and Pac-Man on a Switch 2 truly makes me happy. I loved Atari 2600 Pac-Man as a kid. Was great playing on a home console even though it had a “horrible reputation”.

Is Alyssa a fashion icon? Cause she should be.

Watched 48 Hours for the very first time. Loved it - especially the chemistry between Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte. Very racist movie tho. Enjoyed seeing Jonathan Banks and Brion James pop up. Commando totally stole this movie’s music. Never saw the sequel either. Guess that’s next.

Watched Roofman. Great crime movie with Channing Tatum based on a criminal who lived in a Toys R Us after a prison break. But really it just made me long for the days of going holiday shopping at Toys R Us. No matter as a kid or an adult, Toys R Us was always something special.

Finishing up One Battle After Another - nowhere near PTA’s best. I’m sure it’ll win all the Oscars. The music took me right out of the film. Teyana Taylor was the best part of the film by far and she’s not in it enough. Leo was okay I guess.

Started my Saturday morning with a depressing and heartwarming faith based movie Soul on Fire - true story of a boy living his life after burning 100% of his body. Shows how strong and resilient a human could be. Nice to see William H Macy still acting.

My birthday is getting closer and closer and man does it have me depressed. My peers have already had the big birthday… I’ll be one of the last. Anyway - getting older sucks.

My gorgeous kitty Luna started growling at me and gave me the stinkeye. I immediately took a photo of her. That’s the post.

Looking forward to finally owning Dogma on digital soon. Clerks is funnier, but Dogma is probably Kevin Smith’s best film. Tough to choose between the two.

Finally picked up the newest edition of the Sodomaniac DVD from Nick - he’s had it for me for a couple years. My former YouTube show “Best Comedy You’ve Never Seen “ makes an appearance as a special feature on the DVD which is very cool. Sodomaniac is funny, gross, and a truly feminist film.
