Pupils have been interested in learning about different countries. This week we explored famous landmarks and pupils used different resources to recreate them.

It’s the time of year for learning about planting, growing and looking after plants. Pupils planted sunflower seeds🌻 and designed a scientific experiment with cress seeds 🌱to prove what plants need to grow. Ask us about it!

We enjoyed showing our knowledge of nocturnal animals by drawing and labelling them using the chalk on a beautiful day last week.

P1 pupils practised spelling common words correctly and practised their cutting skills at the same time.

We have been astounded every morning to see how fast our Amaryllis bulb is growing! We have been developing estimating and measuring skills to work out how tall it has grown. #reallifemaths

We enjoyed Maths through stories using the story ‘The Doorbell rang’ by Pat Hutchins. As more friends arrived we talked about how to share the cookies fairly so everyone had the same amount. Lots of counting, sharing and problem solving with cookies! 🍪 #Mathsthroughstories

Our Primary 2 pupils enjoyed using the ‘Author’s chair’ to share their writing with the class. We all loved hearing their instructions for making a disgusting sandwich!

Primary 1 pupils have been working hard on their letter formation using rainbow writing! Super concentration and effort!

Primary 2 pupils have been busy writing sentences including words that contain the digraph we have been learning this week ‘aw’.

We need your help to decorate the school Christmas tree! Have fun making an eco-friendly decoration at home by recycling some everyday materials and bring it in to school to hang in the hall. 🎄

We enjoyed working on and testing our roman catapults made with Mr Shave at the woodwork bench this week. We worked out which cotton ball had gone furthest when launched from our catapults to great excitement! #STEM #woodwork

We used pictures and a sorting task last week to spark a class discussion on what are friendly and unfriendly behaviours. We were all in agreement that we want our classroom to be a friendly place. #Anti-bullyingWeek

We enjoyed a taste of woodwork this week, working with Mr Shave to have a go at sawing and sanding. We were delighted with our windmills, and enjoyed exploring how to catch the wind and watch them spin! #STEM #woodwork

We use ‘show me’ activities using mini dry wipe boards and number fans to increase engagement and thinking skills in Literacy and Numeracy lessons.

Primary 1 pupils enjoyed a shared reading session with their Primary 6 buddies this morning. Lots of lovely engagement in sharing stories together.

There was lots of excitement when we found all sorts of signs of Autumn on our walk. We used what we noticed and the wonderful book ‘The Lost Words’ by Robert McFarlane and Jackie Morris to help us and inspire us when we wrote about what we found.

We made the most of a break in the showers this week to get out and enjoy the daily mile.
