JFK Terminal 8 TSA PreCheck security line this morning: about an hour at 6:30am. Longest I’ve seen, but made it through by 7:35am.

NYC’s congestion would not be tolerated on public safety grounds in Europe. Their codes are predicated on fire departments’ ability to quickly reach every part of a city from big, centralized fire stations with specialized equipment – impossible here

If you took the stereotype about Democrats from working-class immigrant voters – that it’s a party of rich white people and poor people who don’t want to work and just want welfare – and tried to create a housing policy to match it, what would you end up with? Inclusionary zoning.

A tiny pinprick wildfire in NJ, with these precise wind conditions, is managing to poison ~8 to 12 million people. Probably the worst impact per actively burning fire-acre in US history

I'm going to agree to disagree on Prop 2. The City Council knows the permit process is broken, but instead of fixing it for years, they've let it just lumber on because no one was in charge of enforcement. The result was impassible/unsafe bridges pedestrian paths/unusable sidewalks.
