One way that Christians use God’s name in vain is weaponizing prayer as a pacifier/ icebreaker before difficult meetings.

The cost of prophetic witness is this: When they lack vision, you’re “extreme”, “divisive”, or “angry”. When they finally see what you saw, you’re invisible. First you’re too radical. Then you’re conveniently forgotten. It was never that you were extreme. You were just early.

Another way privilege PMO is when ⚪️ folks say, “I don’t read the news, so didn’t know he said/did that”. So you put the machinery of ⚪️ supremacy in motion, then walked away without so much as a glance back to see who & how it hurt when you left.

I appreciate that so many people are outraged about Trump’s video of the Obamas depicted as monkeys. But it’s a slap in the face everytime I see it shared. It must be nice to just logon to the internet without having your humanity & dignity attacked at any given point in time.

I find that many folks who believe they’re ⚪️ progressive Christians are actually just the moderates King spoke of. The giveaway is that they tout 🟤 church tradition but eschew platforming 🟤 progressive Christians for fear that we’re too woke.

By watching these atrocities & failing to act, ⚪️ Christianity is doing the same thing now that it did in response to slavery, Jim Crow, the fight for women’s suffrage and queer for equality: enabling. Facilitating. And that’s true now for the same reason it was then: this is what they want.

A jury acquitted one of the officers that did nothing to prevent the Uvalde shooting. I was worried about this criminal verdict because in *civil* law, there’s cases establishing officers owe no duty to protect. 1/2
