First dazzling session of 2026 in my mid-Wales study area ( nr Lampeter) resulted in 9 Woodcock, 3 Jack Snipe and a Golden Plover. Great showing of mammals too with several hares, a couple of foxes plus single badger, polecat and otter @btocymru.bsky.social @birdsinwales.bsky.social

Finding five Avocets on Loch Bee, South Uist was a bit of a suprise on the first evening of the hols. Here's two of them, a bit fuzzy but they were the best part of a kilometre away 🙂
