Hyper-detailed art doesn’t always contribute to the story. When someone tells me they stopped and spent 10+ minutes admiring the artwork in a single panel, I wonder: Was this a deliberate narrative pause by the author, or just the artist flexing their skills at the expense of storytelling flow?

It took me quite a while to settle on the visual style for my comic The Witches of Bizharr. I ran a lot of tests along the way, from simpler finishes to the most elaborate I could manage. In the end, I chose something in between satisfaction and practicality—otherwise, I’d never finish the project.

I was casually doodling while watching some videos, and before I knew it, it was getting a bit too elaborate for something that was supposed to be just a quick meme. So I’m leaving it unfinished. ^^
