Thought his headgear was a grey beard for many years. Gave mine the Classics energy whip-looks great!

Masters of the Universe Saurod! The most impressive costume amongst Skeletor’s movie mercenaries got inexplicably stiffed in terms of screen time but did get an interesting if underwhelming figure. Sparking action works well but since the lever suffers from Gold Plastic Syndrome using it isn’t wise

Masters of the Universe Ninjor! Another late fig who transcends the heavy use of recycled parts (& the 80s action line generic ninja cliche) with an incredibly strong design & *gorgeous* colours. If he’d come out earlier I’m sure he’d be everyone’s favourite. This one has never had his hood removed

Masters of the Universe King Randor! Rules in more ways than one. Like a lot of royalty has trouble recognising his kids as they were raised by someone else. Eventually got sick of skull-faced shenanigans, abdicated & moved to his wife’s home planet to open up a fast food chain

Quickstrike cannot BELIEVE his luck after landing in the Beast Wars toy bio universe with the skanky leopardskin version of his sugarbot (…nobody has told him that bio Blackarachnia is a cannibal who lures horny dopes into her lair in order to eat them or pointed out that he STINKS of Maximal)

Masters of the Universe Clamp Champ! The largely recycled figures from the last wave make up for their heavy parts reuse by being particularly beautiful. The Champ’s blue, silver & red deco POPS. His eponymous clamp is a bit meh, the blades can’t grip or lock out so it usually looks like a techy box

Can’t say I’m too impressed by this new Trevor and Simon adaptation on Disney+. The new guys look nothing like them, they haven’t swung their pants once, and I’m pretty sure I saw a duvet in episode four (wildly inaccurate)

Masters of the Universe Rokkon! This younger, hipper Comet Warrior rocks - quite literally! His “light blazer” gun forms a thruster for flying as a comet (the tummy hole isn’t just storage, it’s a transformation element) a fantastic design element. Wish they’d made more Rock People as planned

Masters of the Universe Stonedar! I thought the Rock People were incredible as a kid & was surprised to find out that isn’t a popular view. Stonedar is particularly lovely with his aged crags & craters. Something a lot of folk miss is the gun makes a thruster for flying in comet form

Masters of the Universe Fright Fighter! Truly awesome and epically VAST aircraft that beefed up Skeletor’s airforce significantly. I like how the pincers are very similar in design to Spydor’s, makes them feel like part of the same fleet #vintagetoytuesday

Let’s play a game… Konami handhelds! Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, Hero Turtles II: Splinter Speaks, and Star Trek 25th anniversary! Minutes of fun (…ish). Turtles 1 was mine from new so I still have the card and even the gameplay sticker that went over the screen, others were from a jumble sale

FUCK - my Netflix Megatron and Nemesis Prime have contracted the early 2020s random yellowing disease (not photographing well but compare Prime’s back panel to his thighs). I knew Megatron suffered but Nemmy is an unwelcome surprise. I really liked that figure as well 😔

Transformers Studio Series 86 Windcharger! Already having a few CHUG-style figs meant Windy was last in line to get a shortking deluxe but it was worth the wait as he’s fab. Gorgeous with the always welcome Prime Vehicon-style folding roof legs. Can randomly look up with a lever, odd but fun feature

Masters of the Universe Laser Bolt! Can switch between an armed Segway form & a dragster mode making it useful for fight or flight. Speaking of flight the He-Man & She-Ra Christmas Special gave it the ability to fly into space & who am I to argue with that? Guns can be removed & held by figs (A+)

Charity shop finds! Devastation Optimus Prime missing his weapons, stacks and tummy (somehow still has his matrix) and a partially legless RotB Arcee. Not the most exciting haul but not bad for £1.50 and I’m sure I’ll think of something to do with them.

Sunday evening delivery! I don’t collect Origins but I had a particularly sinister gap to fill and the Super 7 one has got really expensive

Masters of the Universe Dragstor! I don’t think he’s anybody’s favourite Hordesman but he’s kinda neat even if promoting him as a transforming figure was pushing it. Shame his crossbow is the same design & colour as Mantenna’s (well, one shade darker). A unique colourful bow would help him stand out

… like I’d bet money that this one was based on an unproduced toy. The various generic Rock Lords in the film are surprisingly well designed but this is next level. The transformation is very “real” eg the hollow in the torso allows the head & neck to fold away & the triangular dip matches the snout

“Here comes poison! Yeehaaaaw!” Transformers Age of the Primes Quickstrike! Possibly the most media accurate non-MP TF ever. Really, really lovely. He’s oddly massive though, QS should be teeny. Shouldn’t complain given how everything has shrink of late but he’s out of scale with Kingdom/Legacy BW

Gobots: Battle of the Rock Lords UK quad poster! Proudly advertised as “The First Gobots Move Ever!” (& last 😕). Really nice poster. I like that some generics from the film made it on. The movie Rockasaurs in the corner are REALLY toyetic, makes me wonder if they were based on unused toy concepts

Masters of the Universe Horde Trooper! Sadly I didn’t have any Horde Troopers as a kid (looked but didn’t find) which is a shame as they really do make The Horde feel like, well, a horde. The fall-apart feature is great. The stave is cool & when held upside down it looks more like the toon stun rods

Masters of the Universe Multi-Bot - Evil Robot of a Thousand Bodies! Billed as “the ultimate transforming robot” (hm, really Mattel?) Modulok’s creation is fun though not quite as cool as his inventor. The 2nd torso gives it a lot more play value. Can combine with Modulok to form a jumbled Megabeast

So do we know if Hasbro are doing anything for the 30th anniversary of Beast Wars, or nah? Bit behind on leaks. Glorious as this poisonous prince is it would be pretty sad if him and Little Big Convoy are it in terms of celebrations

Masters of the Universe Tung Lashor! The Snakemen seem to have had a fairly lax recruitment policy as this dude is clearly a frog. A very ripped frog with fangs & enormous nipples, but still a frog. Tongue lashing feature works well. Painted back variant makes a pretty fig even prettier

New arrivals- a two-headed freak, a Quint and Devastator’s boobs & balls. A fun day ahead!

As a kid I usually didn’t want the alternate costume figs though did agonise over whether or not to buy him because I liked that he had a cannon arm like the show. Ultimately I chose something else that day & never saw him again. Aww

Parents hated it but we loved it. Even when the slime dried up it looked gnarly. What am I using as slime? Well…

Masters of the Universe Rattlor! Better pop-out neck feature than Mekaneck, better tail than Whiplash, great sculpt and beautiful colours. His rattling feature was brilliantly simple & provided hours of fun. My childhood one had the rarer red neck though think I prefer the yellow-necked version

Masters of the Universe Terror Claws Skeletor! He’s had his nails done, put on a new metallic purple sports bra & is ready for a night on the tiles. Sadly in his rush to look fabulous he’s forgotten to feed his Dragon Blaster backpack which is looking a lil unhealthy (🐲💀). Someone check on Panthor!

… and here’s the Duocon duo! Despite their differing gimmicks their upper and lower bodies use the same connectors so you can swap them around if you like (the original G1 toys could do that too though nobody ever mentions it, weirdly)

Trashformers Siege Skytread! Flywheels returns with a new name though, sadly for him, not a new gimmick as unlike Battletrap his halves don’t have individual robot modes (cruel as Flywheel’s halves don’t get on & would surely have loved more autonomy!). Has plenty of firepower to make up for it

Masters of the Universe Flying Fists He-Man! This GORGEOUS He-Man traded his Power Sword for a spinny ball thingy which was a bit of a raw deal but he looks fabulous. Surprised they didn’t give him a sword (blue Weapons Pak one looks nice with him). Careful-his shield is made out of THE Gold Plastic

Transformers Power of the Primes Battleslash & Roadtrap! Really great idea - giving both halves of Battletrap robot modes - and sad that these toys seem a bit forgotten as they are really fun. Shame the have no weapons but those from the Legacy Skids mould fit them nicely. BT himself is amazing

Masters of the Universe Megalaser! My least favourite MOTU toy. The wind-up action didn’t really work very well & it annoyed me that you had the take armour off to use it so I rarely did. Still, on the rare occasions it did come into play it was fun to imagine mowing down baddies so not all bad

Masters of the Universe Stilt Stalkers! Mattel had a bit of thing for making Heoric Warriors taller. Not everyone’s cup of tea but I enjoyed the set. It provided cool extra armour (mine was worn by my nude Man At Arms), backpack mode was nice & the stilts provided fast running abilities & firepower

Masters of the Universe Jet Sled! I LOVED this. Affordable sleek flying vehicle that could be ridden or used as a jetpack. The stylish replacement armour was a nice bonus. The animalistic Eternian vehicle stylings are subtle but present (the Jet nose is a shark & the missiles are pterosaurs)

Masters of the Universe Extendar! The pearlescent “Tower of Power” morphs from a squat chunky knight to a TALL knight. Given that both his body & transforming pizza box/shield are festooned with peace symbols & his lack of offensive weapons he’s probably a gentle sort (unless you’re a Horde Trooper)

Masters of the Universe King Hiss! His disguised form works really well. I was a huge fan of how the snake bellies & lower jaws form his sleeve & glove undersides. I prefer the vintage idea of the Snake Men being Skeletor’s uneasy allies/inevitable berayers to them acting as The Horde 2 ala 200x

Masters of the Universe Snout Spout! Folk rag on him (even his own mini comic makes a big deal of him being dumb, odd as he’s not that weird by Eternian standards) but I always thought he was super cool. Is it just me who assumed he was a fleshy elephant man pre-cyborg bits rather than being human?

Transformers Age of the Primes Skydive! Had a short stint as a lesser Furman’s pet in the early 90s (headed a couple of Earthforce stories & did a bit in early G2) but it didn’t seem to help shake his least exciting Aerialbot role. Still, his wing deco is cool

Aw, that’s a shame about T.K. Carter. He was also the voice of Rocksteady in the Transformers episode “Auto Bop” - the Bop Crew has a lot less juice tonight 😞

Masters of the Universe Rio Blast! More pew-pew than a 100 skunks, more “draw!” than Jack Kirby’s desk & a head so 70s it hurts more than a salvo from his many, many guns. Some folk might think he belongs on New Texas more than Eternia but I can only conclude that they hate fun

Masters of the Universe Fright Zone! More diorama than base the trap-filled stronghold of terror is awesome but doesn’t quite hit Grayskull/SM fun level. The rock & tree monsters could do with evil faces to sell that they are monsters (hello Origins). My perfect puppet feels like a ticking time bomb
