ever since i stopped posting on x i've been reading more of my feed and i have to say that i do not enjoy most of the posts of the people i follow. i'm sure they nice people, just i wish they would write something worth reading. most of them are trying hard to be funny. i wish they would stop that.

when it comes to writing i focus on quantity, not quality. because eventually if you write all the combinations of all the words, you will have written some quality things too.

my friend sent me a "welfare check" text eight days ago, but i didn't respond, as a test of the effectiveness of welfare checks.

most of what i write is just a kind of private archive. an extension of my memory. it's not intended for publication. helps to clear the mind. once you write it all down there's no point thinking about it. if the thought pops back into your head you just remember you wrote about it and it stops.

you have to write something before you get too old. otherwise everything is tinged with too much self-reflection. you also get too wise and jaded and cynical. in your mind you see yourself shift-deleting the final draft before even writing the first since you know nothing good can come of any of it.

i actually had a whole final post thing planned for the microblog but then we got the news about the family friend and when i came back i missed the deadline but then leaving it unfinished it kind of felt like a more fitting end given the whole theme of the microblog. things don't go as planned.
