Something I've noticed coming from toxic fandoms is how differently people criticize things. Coming from Godzilla and Sonic people are vitriolic about the things they hate, and they're religious about the things they like, if you don't agree with them, you're the worst person ever.

I beat Dark Souls 2 and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It does come down to multiple very niche mechanics and design choices that personally appeal to me, and I did have a BUNCH of issues with some design decisions, but overall I had a great time with it.
