When Salem lawmakers moved to gut Multnomah County’s preschool tax, program supporters jumped to its defense. Their efforts seem to mitigated the immediate risks, but county leaders and program advocates are staying alert to potential new threats.

"The cost of preschool on working families is crushing. I have a preschooler. As of September, I'll be paying $1750 per month." Emergency trip to Salem to testify in opposition to SB 106-3, which would kill local preschools and have devastating effects on our current and future workforce.

Earlier this afternoon I was proud to be joined by @multco.bsky.social board colleagues @meghanmoyer.bsky.social, @shannonsingleton.bsky.social, @vincejonesdixon.bsky.social as we stood united against this undemocratic attempt to kill Preschool for All by the State Legislature.
