This week's episode concerns the well regarded 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. This is a game neither of us had played before but knew it's reputation of being a bonkers (respectful) visual novel. It sure did deliver. Check it out this Sunday!

Been playing Crypt Custodian after seeing it pop up on @indiegameawards.gg’s list of game of the year nominees. I’m enjoying it so far! Feels closer to how Death’s Door handled being a Zelda-like compared to something like Tunic. Really interested in where the story ends up going too.

Been playing Diceomancer and really enjoying it. It combines the rock solid foundation of Slay the Spire and the absolute chaos of Balatro. Also loving the bizarre art style that’s somewhere between the Zelda CDI game and the LOTR animated movie.

First thing I saw on threads today: people dunking on Jim Gaffigan for some reason. First thing I saw on Bluesky today: a picture of the Jehuty mech from the PS2 classic Zone of the Enders (a game by Hideo Kojima). I think this means Bluesky won the social media wars.

Recently finished up the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. The discussion of that game as a whole is a real can of worms but I really wanna heap on some praise of Phantom Liberty. Truly was not expecting the combo of Mission Impossible, Casino Royale and Alien Isolation that it brought.

During the Bad Translation of a Review bit in the next episode we got some alternate names for the horror classics of yore. Had to make covers for them.

Been playing through Galerians recently, a game I had no idea existed until a few days ago. Its mechanics are extremely okay but I’m loving its story. The game came out in 1999 so it’s got a TON of 90s era sci fi anime influence. We’re talkin’ self aware AI that wants to create a god kinda stuff.

Extremely proud of our Kingdom Hearts episode that dropped yesterday. The series is so special to me personally so it feels amazing to be able to figure out what exactly makes it work. The game wants you to feel!
