New things, new year, or some such BS. Welcome back to work after your summer break Arthur (professional services in NZ basically have a forced shut-down/leave period between Xmas even and the second week of January).

Hike with the pups today. TLDR: pushed too far and hurt Ambers feet. Amber (smaller one in the orange harness) started slowing so we stopped, had a rest, some water, and went a little further but obviously she was tired so we turned around. She kept slowing so I finally thought to check her feet.

Definitely not mountain bike fit but some great views from the CAP (Christchurch Adventure Park). I must look a bit silly with all the safety gear and a full face helmet going down the green trail but it's safety first (and even the green trail has some areas with consequences off the trail edges)

Reminder to self: First day at the gym in a long *long* while and I get to be very *very* humbled by the weight I am moving. Better to ease back in like I'm rehabbing an injury (an injury to my ego)

Gladiator II is 2+ hours of cheesy, faux grandiose blegh. I don't understand why studios don't understand nuanced storytelling anymore. Literally the movie is summed up in a sentence: forgotten prince becomes gladiator fueled by vengeance, but "evolves" to be a reluctant hero and uniting force.
