Back Birding this weekend I’ll be visiting Aberlady Nature Reserve again.

Earlier I hard a skien of Geese, not seen or heard any in a couple of weeks.

The grey seal pupping season is underway, so we visited Craigleith island yesterday to carry out our annual seal pup count🦭

The data collected from this survey will be shared with the Forth Islands Heritage Group, helping to build a clearer picture of grey seal numbers in the Firth of Forth🌊 Images (c) Jamie McDermaid

For the first time what feels like weeks I’ve seen some activity at my feeders. I’ve seen mainly Coal Tits.

Not Birding this week but next week I’m going to the following places. 10th Cammo Estate Nature Reserve 12th River Almond & Cramond Beach 15th Aberlady Nature Reserve

Back Birding in November. November 2025 4th Cammo Estate Nature Reserve 11th River Esk & Musselburgh Lagoons 15th Aberlady Nature Reserve 18th Blackford Pond & Holyrood Park

It was too windy for birds today so I didn’t see a lot so decided to stop for the day. However I did see Kingfisher (first of the year for me) Mute Swan Mallard Woodpigeon Magpie Pied Wagtail Crow

It’s a bit blustery here today so don’t think I’ll see a lot of birds but I’ll stay a bit and also admire the autumn colours.

Thought I’d return to Figgate Park as it’s been awhile.

Think it’s time to start wearing my wooly hat with my logo on for the Autumn & Winter season now it’s getting colder.

Going to go to Figgate Park today it’s been awhile.

The latest issue of Birdwatching Magazine is looking very autumny with a Fieldfare on the cover.

Getting ready for Halloween 🎃

It’s been a very busy month but I have enjoyed it. The month is almost over so I will be telling you what I did in my November Blog at the weekend.

Seeing as tomorrow is looking sunny and the only dry day this week I’m planning on Birding at not one but two places, Blackford Pond & Figgate Park.

Just a reminder that the clocks go back tonight (2am).

Heard three skiens of Geese this morning always a spectacular to hear and see I didn’t see them though.

Berries Favourite food for wintering birds . Look out for Fieldfares, Redwings, Mistle Thrushes and fingers crossed Waxwings.🤞🏻

Enjoyed Episode 2 of Hamzas Wild Isles. Loved the Swifts, Nightjars & Horseshoe Bats.

Hard to believe a week today the clocks go back.

ad a amazing afternoon at RSPB Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve @rspbscotland.bsky.social It was rather quiet but I still managed to see some birds. Today’s sightings were Great Tit Coal Tit Crow Chaffinch Mallard Wigeon Mute Swan Wren Lapwing Cormorant Jackdaw I will return in 2026.

Nice boardwalk all the way back to the trail.

Walked to the end of the line to a great view. Don’t think I got this far on my last visit.

Impressive array of fungi or mushrooms.

Enjoying the peace at the Aird Meadow. I hsve been watching Mallard, Wigeon, Mute Swan, Wren, Lapwing, Cormorant & Coot.

Such a nice path at the reserve.

Finally made it back to Lochwinnoch after 12 years.

On the train now to Lochwinnoch.

TODAY I’m off to visit RSPB Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve I’m looking forward to it.

TOMORROW!!!! After 12 years after my last visit I am returning to RSPB Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve @rspbscotland.bsky.social . I am looking forward returning and see what birds are there.

Enjoyed a morning walk Birding at my local patch. Though it was busy with families I still managed to see some birds. Today’s Bird sightings were Woodpigeon Magpie Blue Tit Robin Jay Great Tit Buzzard Crow Nuthatch
