🥹😭🥹😭🥹😭 I love thunderstorms. My timing for visiting Mumbai this year is later than usual, so I was sad that I’d miss the rains. But there’s a gorgeous, loud, lightening filled thunderstorm occurring now. My soul feels euphoric and content. 😌

Buying my first house, working on my final submission for the specialist register, travelling to India for 3 weeks. Not got much on, have I? No wonder I’m a stress pot.

Things that keep me up at night - The slow house buying process with multiple stalling points. - The stress of the work I’m doing to try and become a consultant. - Government officials wanting to cancel the ILR.

Just casually and gradually unsubscribing from most online services in this increasingly expensive world we live in.

If things don’t go my way, I hope they still go well, and do the least amount of harm.

A lovely lady noticed I was waiting in queue behind her for my food & coffee, and she insisted I go ahead of her because I’m working and shouldn’t waste my break. 😭❤️ I’ve been feeling so glum. This is the nicest thing that has happened to me today.

I’m harbouring a lot of regrets right now, and they’re really getting me down. So in an attempt at catharsis … If I could advise my younger self I’d say - hide your talents, be good quietly, offer goodwill but don’t accept it - it comes with a catch.

One of the most important skills I learnt during my school years was how to lose graciously, and move on.

When I read books in my childhood, I expected to have them for a limited time. So I read with the intention to complete them. I’m grateful for that habit.

As soon as I wake up, get ready for the day, and sit down for a couple of moments … I need a nap. Got that sleep deficit 😴

I almost recovered from the cough that started in mid December. Until a couple of weeks ago when I started coughing lots again. And 3 days ago when I got a full blown cold again. Let me heeeeaaal.

Here’s me thinking about how I can start to cut down costs. I’ve already unsubscribed from some services I enjoyed over the last few years - some entertainment, some academic. Makes me sad to give up more.

I like to consume words. Whether that’s by reading medical books, journal articles, fiction novels, internet blogs, tidbits on social media feeds; listening to podcasts, or watching TV. My brain is hungry.

I’m finally here and instantly hit by a wave of nostalgia. Hopefully I can connect with some people and enjoy socialising happily again. Less intensity, less fight to be right, more sharing of knowledge, joy, fandom, and humour. Hello people of Bluesky!
