Heather Ladybird (Chilocorus bipustulatus) and Red Marsh Ladybird (Coccidula rufa) from St. John's Wood on the shores of Lough Ree, Roscommon over the weekend. Both new for the site, also recorded 7-spot and 10-spot ladybirds. Unfortunately no 13-spot Ladybird.

Several Orange Ladybird (Halyzia sedecimguttata) tapped from Ivy today at Coolmelagh. Targeted surveying to find Ivy Ladybird (Nephus quadrimaculatus) in Wicklow drew a blank. It was found new to Ireland in late 2023 and is known from neighbouring counties Wexford & Carlow as well as Kilkenny.

Nysius huttoni (Lygaeidae) from Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin last month. Beaten from some ornamental herbaceous plantings in the car park. Now known from counties Carlow (where I found it new to Ireland in 2023), Armagh and Dublin.

Inconspicuous ladybird Coccidula scutellata tapped from elm adjoining Common Reed along the Grand Canal near Ranelagh, Dublin city. Found new to Ireland in May 2024, great to see the species for the 1st time while recording for #LadybirdAtlas2025 last month.
