Today marks Holocaust Memorial Day, marking the anniversary of the liberation of the former Nazi concentration and death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau. Antisemitism has been on the rise again, and it is vital that everyone pauses and speaks out against all forms of antisemitism, and tackle it head on.

Thank you to the Holocaust Educational Trust, who visited Parliament to ask MPs to sign their Book of Commitment, honouring the 6 million Jewish men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust and paying tribute to the extraordinary survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people.

Locally, a shocking 10,610 patients waited 12 hours in Stockport A&E in 2025. The Lib Dems plan to tackle these problems would make 6,000 extra hospital beds available to end corridor care within a year. Thanks to AgeUK for coming into Parliament to talk about their corridor care campaign.

Thanks to the new Canal and River Trust CEO for meeting with me, Shan Alexander and Dom Warner at the Peak Forest Canal on Friday. Among other things, we discussed the ongoing work being done with councillors to address the cars that have been dumped in the area, and leak prevention work.
