The following is a statement from the WGA on the Acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Netflix.

At a bare minimum, Netflix should have episodes of a show in the correct order. I’m watching Franklin & Bash and multiple storylines don’t make sense because the ep order is wrong. Characters are dating and then they meet later. They’re partners in the firm and then they’re not yet. So frustrating.

Remember, the big argument for AI in the arts is that these “artists” have ideas, hundreds of ideas, thousands, all that was stopping them was the hoards of gatekeeping musicians, writers, illustrators… and not that they were lazy and didn’t want to put in the work.

I went to a sing-along Sound of Music tonight and it was so much fun! I highly recommend the experience.

I really like Stranger Things, but I am pissed off enough at the decision to release on three major holidays in a row (Thanksgiving, Christmas, NYE) that my excitement about season 5 is near rock bottom. I’m probably going to get spoiled because my family/friends are more important than a TV show.

Catching up on Star Trek: Lower Decks has been such a great decision. I need silly, light-hearted TV when everything else is such a mess.

i really resent the continued assertion that there’s so much anger on both sides, as if the causes of the anger are equally legitimate. we’re angry because masked maniacs are violently snatching our family and neighbors off the street, and they’re angry because we’re calling them out for it.

Hearing reports of tear gas in Wrigleyville from multiple sources. For non-Chicagoans, Wrigleyville is an affluent, mostly-white neighborhood surrounding Wrigley Field. Chicago's brown and Black communities are still taking the brunt of migra violence, but no neighborhood is immune any longer.

We’re now living in a world where I’m excited about a license plate tampering hotline.

I know that there are people outside Chicago who are paying attention and seeing these videos but there are no words for how it feels when the videos show everyday places in your neighborhood, places that are part of your routine. The sense of violation is profound.
