My paper with @aliceoven.bsky.social and @basiayoxon.bsky.social has had another flurry of coverage in response to this news, which is very welcome. In particular, our figures are cited in a widely syndicated NPR article.

Here's one of my papers on the topic; this was written with @aliceoven.bsky.social and @basiayoxon.bsky.social. We found that cultivated pet food might have a different market to cultivated meat for human consumption. For example, veg(etari)ans expressed interest in buying it.

This is (I believe) the first time cultivated meat has been available for sale in Europe. In a WORLD first, it's available as pet food! When I started talking and writing about this a decade ago, people thought the idea was laughable. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
