It'd be cool if we had a way to crowdfund bounties for Blender features. I'd much rather kick $5 into a bounty for a feature everyone can then use for free, than pay $5 for a commercial add-on.

Obviously fully modular PSUs exist, which helps. But the cables usually have several plugs daisy-chained on them even when the unit is modular. The incident I described involved a modular PSU.

This was eventually going to happen anyway. There's a reason we don't build terrestrial observatories near cities. The future of astronomy should not be in low Earth orbit. Yes, that means creating deep space infrastructure to support it. That's not a bad thing.
