Oh boy, got that weird itch of undirected energy and unable to focus it into one thing.

Here's hoping we're downwind of the chemical fire that broke out a mile down the road. I'm more alarmed that an independent local page that covers major incidents and accidents had the info and the shelter-in-place warning before the paid local news stations.

I think the main thing on my bucket list nowadays, because it doesn't seem like I'm going to be able to leave the country and visit distant lands anytime soon, is to make a suit of millet and go lay in places where there are lots of house sparrows.

Sitting peacefully petting my bird and one of the branches that have been hanging by a few fibers finally gave out after last night, scared the hell outta both of us. It's tangled up in yet another comms line.. glad we don't use wired internet anymore, I guess.

Genuinely surprised there hasn't been any incentive for people to go out and collect the frozen invasive iguanas when the state gets these extreme cold snaps with overnight wind chills feeling like 30°.

Bird has no interest snuggling up into hoodies, she just pokes at my face and stomps off (until she'll decide later that she wants to be under my chin). Guess she's got enough bird heat feather convection going on.

Idk if being a transplant from colder climates makes these "feels like 37°" mornings easier for me or what. Trying to be sympathetic to the counterpart while I'm having memories of putting the bags from newspapers over my socks before putting on my boots to walk half a mile to school in the snow.

Ugh One of the local haunts has a quirky vending machine with various toys, sometimes mystery socks, and art from local folks. Splurged last month and got a spicy zine/mini-artbook (it's really good) issue is ..now I wanna make my own printed zine/art book thing on semi-glossy paper toooo

Florida: It is raining out front. The backyard is not getting any rain at all.

Bird has learned to identify faucets mean water and where in the house they are located. She'll indicate when she wants a drink. This morning, she jumps into the tub. Run some water, she takes a sip, leaves. Looks over at me, I plug the tub, fill a cockatiel-appropriate level, and she takes a bath 🥺

Fell asleep with a show on, and i guess the semi-conscious side picked up enough of the details to incorporate it into a dream ...where I spent half the time critiquing the structure, color themes, and plot -- kinda funny because it's a show that really does have potential but it's doing too much.
