This term seems juxtaposed to the rest of the world. Everywhere else spring has brought a promise of newness; reenergised and hopeful. But in education we're in a different position. Although there are still overnight frosts, we are in the summer term and that means assessments, exams and reports.

I'm worried though that the gov are rushing towards this without thinking it through properly. There def needs something doing, I agree that phones shouldn't be out during the day. But schools don't have the money to invest in pouches and it's not as simple as saying leave them at home.

Don't dismiss this type of training as unnecessary because you personally know all these acronyms. Non teaching staff, particularly those joining with no previous school experience can find this really valuable. We talk in jargon so much it can make people feel like they don't belong.

What are your hobbies? Something you do simply because it brings you joy. Mine - synchronised swimming, gardening, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, cold water swimming, baking, reading, watching TV, scrapbooking, visiting new countries.

Swim #22 of the year yesterday was a bit grey so the big hat was back out. But it was beautifully calm so I managed a proper swim.
