I talked to two young men in Quebec City last September, and they told me my fear of Trump's reelection was a massive overreaction. One literally rolled his eyes at me. They said nothing bad would happen, our rights and democracy were safe, he'd be good for the economy. Wonder what they think now.

All my GenX life I've heard people say Social Security won't be there for us. I never believed that for a minute! That was always disinformation. But now? Yeah, it could happen because these jackholes will sabotage it. But too many people believed the lie and will accept it as inevitable. Grrr.

Turnout yesterday for the women's march was great! There are bigger cities nearby with bigger attendance, but even in my small corner there were lots of folks raising their voices for democracy. Crowds are not my natural habitat, but it felt good to be in community 💙

I've defended Gavin Newsom at times -- he's made some good decisions that have protected Californians. But when he gets it wrong he REALLY gets it wrong. And he appears to be on a roll with a RTO order, trans athletes, the podcast...that shred of hope that CA would be a safer haven just went poof

I spent four unhappy years in Indiana for college, and this is totally on-brand for the state.

I'm devastated for us in the U.S., but honestly I am loving this for Canada. Watching them rally together and flip us the bird is awesome, and if nothing else good comes out of our fiasco I hope we are the cautionary tale that fuels liberal voices in their upcoming election.
