OK I reposted this earlier (too early, the 6AM flight out of Knoxville is punishing) but to reiterate: using good UX to create informed consent interfaces is now shown to be at least non-inferior to traditional informed consent done in conversation. And maybe superior.

just dropped her plan for universal childcare in the city. In short, she wants to beef up the childcare subsidy (but stops short of wanting it free for all) and expand the pay equity fund. Details here:

USDS/DOGE’s tools will never dismantle USDS/DOGE’s house. DOGE could *only exist* via the unaccountable pathways forged by USDS. Those gaps need to be filled & corrected. We don’t need a different Project 2025 (tech edition), we need a functioning democracy.

It’s important to point out this is a global phenomena where getting food is now a surveillance hot spot. Also, I’ll go out on the limb here and say the impact assessment won’t stop this and it should be stopped.

DC has the fastest-growing rat population among 15 major cities, according to recent research. Rodents are more than a nuisance—they carry diseases that can spread to humans and pose serious public health risks to our residents. I’m introducing the RAT Amendment Act to fight back. 🧵
