i'm seeing works that EXPLICITLY declade romantic feelings be labelled as queerbaiting lately because either the feelings are onesided or the characters haven't kissed yet and this has to one of the most reductive takes i've heard 😭 you would NOT have survived actual queerbaiting of the aughts

i'm too sleepy to sound coherent or nuanced but i really hate that the conversation around depicted queerness has shifted in a way where if characters aren't explicitly shown getting together or kissing it somehow nullifies the author's intent for queerness? cont+
