Kleine Scheidegg 🇨🇭 This is where the metre-gauge Jungfraubahn starts and the 800mm Wengernalpbahn to Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen ends. And of course the views are amazing! 😍

Some great views at Eigergletscher before the train heads into a tunnel the rest of the way on its climb of over 1000m to Jungfraujoch!

Jungfraujoch, 3571m 🇨🇭 The highest station in Europe, and the views are amazing! Definitely one of the best places I’ve been to, despite how expensive it was 😂

After staying in Grindelwald I got the train one stop to the terminal for the cable car up to Eigergletcher! 🇨🇭 From 947m to 2320m is quite a difference! 😍

A trip up the Harderbahn funicular to Harder Kulm! 🇨🇭 Some great views at the top down into Interlaken! 😍

From Neuchâtel it was a quick change in Bern to reach Interlaken! 😍 Here the standard gauge network ends and the metre-gauge lines continue up the mountains!

Took the time in Neuchâtel to get a few (5) bonus stations ticked off 😁 I also found a nice viaduct and caught some old Domino trains, mega traction indeed 🔥

Neuchâtel! 🇨🇭 A beautiful city on the side of a lake! Once again the time I planned here ended up being extended but that’s alright as I’m not in a rush 😁

Lovely scenic route from Besançon into Switzerland! 🇨🇭 Just a few trains a day on an unelectrified line with jointed track, very fun 😁 I got off a few stops early in Le Locle as I noticed there was another train behind to La Chaux-de-Fonds so I could get a bonus station tick!

Besançon 🇫🇷 A beautiful city for an overnight stop, I’ll gave to come back to walk up to the fort! From here I got a TER the next day into Switzerland 😁

Next up, Dole 🇫🇷 Had planned an hour here but that quickly turned into 2! Explored the lovely town centre then had a quick walk on an abandoned railway 😁

Dijon 🇫🇷 Just had an hour here for lunch and a quick explore, a very nice city!

Time for a trip! 373229 took me to Paris, arriving a bit late which gave me less than half an hour to get to Gare de Lyon for my TGV, quick hop on the RER D and got there in plenty of time 😁

Quick trip to Andover after the railtour, where 159105 took me back into London, my last required 159 for haulage 😁

Bedlington ✅ New station on the Northumberland line that opened a few weeks ago! Might be trains from here to Morpeth soon too

Lovely walk today with @tdlovestrains.bsky.social along the Monsal trail from Bakewell to Blackwell! Lots of cool tunnels and a stunning viaduct too 😍

Lovely run from Glasgow to Oban, in the comfy seats of the 153 😁 Good to be back here as it’s been a while since I ticked it off. Our 153 gets detached here with just 156500 running back towards Glasgow! 🔥

Leaving the HSTs behind and heading up the West Highland line instead this evening! Some very mega traction with 153370 leading the consist towards Oban this evening 🔥😍

Jumped off in Perth where I was joined by @trainfanmatt.bsky.social for a run to Aberdeen and back 🔥 Great lineup of 3 HSTs at Aberdeen! 😍

Some HSTs to start the day 😁🔥🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Running about half an hour late because of a fault with the signalling system, fortunately I still made my connection in Aberdeen as it formed the Glasgow train

Back in Inverness for a couple of hours to grab some dinner 😁 Lovely lineup of trains now as the pair of 170s takes me back towards Aberdeen! Last time I got the last Inverness - Aberdeen it was only 2 coaches so a 6 car is a nice improvement 😂

Stopped off in Pitlochry to see a pair of HST powercars running empty up to Inverness! 🔥 Was going to head south to Perth but as that’s been swapped to a 158 and is running quite late causing a missed connection, it’s another HST back to Inverness for me 😁

Sadly what was meant to be a HST got swapped to a very busy 170. Took that to Inverness and now heading back down on another HST 😁🔥

A good start for today with required HST 43183 taking me south from Aberdeen 😁 Just 4 more required ones left now!

Amazing walk from Alness to the stunning Fyrish Monument, with some unexpected snow too! 😍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Some great views of the Cromarty Firth from up here! Walked back down to Evanton which the trains go through but there’s no station ☹️

Nice run from Aberdeen to Inverness on a pair of 158s, then another along the Far North line to Alness. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Time for a walk now!

Frankfurt Flughafen 🇩🇪 Fortunately not catching a plane, just changing trains. As the Regionalbahnhof and Fernbahnhof are separate stations this counts as 2 station ticks 😁 ICE 3neo to Brussels now!

Only time for a quick change in Frankfurt, before heading over to Wiesbaden for lunch and an explore 😁🇩🇪

Bit of station ticking in Leipzig to start the day! 🇩🇪 L. Heiterblick ✅ L. Bayerischer Bf ✅ L. Markt ✅ L. Hbf ✅ Now it’s a lovely ICE 4 for the next few hours taking me to Frankfurt.

Dresden Hbf 🇩🇪 Quite a cool station with high level through platforms and low level bay platforms! Sadly on my way home now, ending tonight with a Talent 2 to Leipzig then tomorrow will be the last day of this trip 😢

Lovely journey on the Railjet from Budapest Keleti to Wien Hbf! 🇭🇺🇦🇹 Seats are the same as on TfW’s 158s so was a very comfortable journey 😁 And behind one of ÖBB’s singing locos too, the exact same one I had in August!
