Sadly back in London now after a nice journey back from Fort William ☹️ 2 hours early though thanks to a couple of quick connections, better than my last journey back from Scotland which was 2h late 😂

Great views, jointed track and a good bit of sprinter thrash, can’t beat the West Highland line! 😍🔥🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Mallaig ✅ West Highland Line ✅ ScotRail ✅ Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✅ 2589/2589 stations in Great Britain 🇬🇧✅ Well I’ve finally done it after just over 3.5 years of station ticking, and a lovely one to finish off with too 😍

Spean Bridge ✅ That concludes probably the shortest sleeper journey I’ll ever do, still got a free eye mask for the 40min trip 😂 Nice station here, and it’s just one stop from Fort William so I got the bus back there for some lunch. 1 station left to go now! 👀

Corrour ✅ The highest and most remote station in the country! Just had half an hour here before getting on the sleeper but I’ll definitely be back for a walk to Rannoch 😁 Felt very weird getting on a loco hauled train with just one door opening 😂 2 stations to go now!

Morning from Fort William! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Starting off today’s station ticking with the same dogbox I got last night 😍🔥 If all goes to plan this could be my final day of station ticking!

Not quite the route I’d planned up to Scotland this afternoon, had to divert onto an IET 🤮 because of a fire near the line at Euston. Still got to Glasgow in plenty of time for my next train, a very mega 156+153+156 combo down the West Highland line! 😍 Big day tomorrow 👀

The new C1 cable car line in Paris! 🇫🇷 Runs from Créteil for 4.5km with a few stops on the way, and has some good views of Paris and some other trains 😁

Time to start the first international trip of the year! Off to Paris with 373211! 🇫🇷🔥

Olton ✅ West Midlands ✅ England ✅ Not sure how it’s taken me so long to get here! Think I wanted to make an earlier train home when I was originally up here so left it, and kept putting off coming back 😂 3 stations left to go!

Wilmcote ✅ Warwickshire ✅ Last time I was on this line I thought I’d already done Wilmcote which is why I left it! Only realised later when checking my map 😂 Nice quick connection here onto one of the few trains via Dorridge that stop, useful for my next station 😁

231s become the 2nd class of train I’ve completed after 231005 took me from Eastbrook to Cardiff Central on Saturday 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Ynyswen ✅ Cymru 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿✅ Been 11 months with just this station left in Wales, but it finally reopened this December with a 2nd platform 😁 Some great snowy mountain views from the station too 😍 5 Stations left to go now

Bore da o Gymru! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Stayed in Cardiff last night then started things off today with a trip to Caerphilly Castle, the largest castle in Wales! 😍

Sadly it’s time to head back south now after some amazing time in the snow in Glenfinnan! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Starting off with about 4.5 hours on this 156 to Glasgow, and a quick hop out at Fort William to grab a photo of a very snowy 37 🔥

Some very thick snow on the walk back to Glenfinnan station via the viaduct path! Made it a but of a challenge to actually find the path under all the snow in some places 😂

Glenfinnan ✅ The only station I’m ticking off today as sadly I need to head home. I hear there’s a nice viaduct nearby so let’s go for a walk 😁

Beasdale ✅ Another very snowy request stop! Just 230 passengers here last year so less than 1 per day! Had just over an hour here while the train went to Mallaig and back, and a 37 went past in that time which I wasn’t ready to film ☹️

Lochailort ✅ A request stop but probably the busiest one on the line as there’s over 2000 annual passengers. Probably the heaviest snow I’ve seen all day here, and it started snowing again just after the train left! 😍

Arisaig ✅ What a beautiful walk from Morar! It may have taken 2.5h but was absolutely worth it! Arrived just as the sun’s setting but I’ve still got a couple more stations to get today. Also is the furthest west station in Great Britain!

Morar ✅ There’s a stunning viewpoint up a hill right next to the station! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😍 As the train I got off has about 3 hours to turn around at Mallaig I walked to Arisaig from here

Banavie ✅ Only about an hour’s walk from Fort William so there’s some great views of Ben Nevis from the platform! There’s also a swing bridge here as the railway crosses the Caledonian Canal.

Morning from Fort William! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Nice lie in this morning as the first train to Mallaig is after 12:00 😂 Starting off with a beautiful snowy walk to Banavie, timed perfectly with a train passing over the Lochy Railway Bridge! 😍

Fort William ✅ Managed to stay here last time without ticking it off so it’s good to finally get it done 😂 It was dark when I arrived so have a picture from when we reversed here earlier, and some views around Fort William too 😍

Loch Eil Outward Bound ✅ Finally getting some stations ticked today! Just a tiny platform big enough for 1 car, and with some great views of Loch Eil 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Had a nice half hour wait here while the trains pass at Glenfinnan

Easy to forget about this morning’s delay when the view out the window is this good! 😍 Lovely gradual increase in snow as we get further north on the West Highland line, I think it might beat Kyle as my favourite line in the UK!

Well I did not expect to make that! 😂 Great driver managed to get us from 15 late to 3minutes late, almost had time for Greggs too 🤣

Morning from Inverness! Plan today was the bus to Fort William but as that’s been cancelled I’ve ran out of spoons just in time for an HST to Glasgow! 🔥 I’ve got an 8min connection there for the Fort William train and if I miss it I’ll have a 6h wait, let’s see how it goes! 😂

Back in Stirling for one last train, 43135 and required 43128 for a nice long run to a very snowy Inverness! 🔥

Stopped off next at Dunblane for a lovely quick walk around! 😍 Only had about 3mins here when I ticked it off originally so good to come back, especially with a bit of snow 😁

Back in Scotland so of course I’ve got some HSTs! 🔥 Took one set from Stirling to Perth, then a nice set swap on a Dundee stopper meant I got a rare HST stop at Bridge of Allan! 😁

Blyth Bebside ✅ Newsham ✅ That’s the Northumberland line done for now, and with a lovely sunrise this morning! Just 2 stations required in England now

Morning from Newcastle! Done a quick run to Metrocentre and back for some required track via the High Level Bridge 😁 Now after stocking up on Greggs I’m heading down the Ashington line to tick off some stations!

One last train for tonight, and it’s some mega traction on a nice fast run along the Tyne Valley! 🔥

Some great views on the way to Wigan, especially around Ribblehead and Settle with the sunset 😍 Now heading back to Carlisle, this time in the dark 😂

After a quick stop in Carlisle for lunch it’s time to head back the same way, but this time on a pair of 805s via the Settle & Carlisle line to Wigan. 10 cars on this train might be a bit overkill as I’ve got an entire coach to myself 😂

After a bit of time waiting in the cold, here’s a pair of Avanti 805s crossing the Ribblehead Viaduct on their diversion via the Settle & Carlisle line!

First stop for today is Ribblehead, I wonder why 🤔

And with my last train for 2025 done I’ve managed to get a total of 52,872 miles, quite an improvement on last year’s 30k! 😁 The top 4 of my longest journeys were all this year, and HSTs have massively climbed up the traction league 🔥 Sadly 455s will be falling next year 😢

Work done for the year so time for a trip now I’ve got a few days off! 😁 Heading north first, hauled by the powerful class 82 on the back 🔥

455s back out today on Wimbledon-Chessington shuttles! 🔥
