Holiday travel shouldn’t be a nightmare. I’m calling on DOT Secretary Duffy to restore rules that protect travelers and keep costs down, because if an airline delays or cancels your flight, you deserve fair compensation. It’s not rocket science.

El Caldito Soup Kitchen provides meals and services for the most vulnerable in the Las Cruces Community. This week, I helped prepare food and talked with volunteers and staff about the important work they do, and I’m committed to continue supporting the Community of Hope.

Over the weekend I had the chance to see old friends at Casa de Peregrinos, where we helped prep for the Thanksgiving rush by loading up turkeys for folks in Sunland Park and La Union. I’m grateful for this amazing organization and all they do to serve our community!

The administration slashed investments in energy, and now New Mexicans are bracing themselves for the cold winter months while their utility bills soar. Yesterday, I called on HHS to bring down utility prices immediately so hardworking folks aren’t left out in the cold.

Thousands of national park staff remain furloughed without pay, our parks are losing $1M a day in revenue, and nearby communities are losing $80M in visitor spending. Families are locked out, workers are left behind, and park resources are unprotected.

During a government shutdown, 22,000 federal workers in New Mexico could miss paychecks. I’m ready to work across the aisle and find real solutions that re-open the government and protect Americans’ health care.

I met with Adams Produce in Hatch, where Scott and Terry Adams run a family farm growing everything from chile and onions to pecans and feed. They shared the challenges that farmers here are facing, and I came to listen.

Did you know coffee prices have surged 21% in just the past year? I visited Picacho Coffee Roasters & The Bean and spoke with Chad and Mickey, local small business owners who are feeling the financial pressure from tariffs firsthand.

Yesterday in La Mesa, I met with local seniors at San Jose Catholic Church, where a monthly mobile food pantry helps neighbors make ends meet. We talked about the growing challenges they face, from rising pharmacy costs to rent increases to trying to stretch fixed incomes further each month.

This month, I was proud to stand with members of the New Dem Coalition to unveil our Border Security & Immigration Framework: a commonsense plan to secure our borders, grow our economy, and treat people humanely. This is the immigration plan the American people have been waiting for.
