Here's a Tiwanaku IV/V kero for "celebration", #ArchInk Day 4. Keros are a vessel type used in several archaeological Andean cultures to drink chicha (maize beer). Chicha played an important role in Tiwanaku celebrations, feasts, and rituals.

One of my contributions for #archink, featuring the amazing reconstructed Hili grand tomb. Umm an Nar tombs are interpreted as collective tombs, wherein there's no discernible social differentiation amongst the burials inside. My sketches of the carvings suffered a bit in the inking process.

For the 1st day of #ArchInk & the prompt "gather", I thought back to an infographic I made in 2021 on earth ovens in the Pend Oreille Valley. This sketch shows some of the plants gathered for cooking in those ovens, including camas, nodding onions, huckleberries, vetch, and pine nuts. 1/3 #SciArt 🏺
