Whenever I see anything to do with Maya Deren I genuinely always believe she was from the 80’s. Not from 70 years prior! If she was 20/30 in that photo, that would’ve been from the 30s/40s, but it just doesn’t look like anything else from that time.

It’s damn near better than about 95% of horror films released ever since. Better than about 90% of any other genre. Who is this chump?!

I’ve just checked, and since I’ve been tracking I have watched 1,106 ‘new to me’ films. Everyone should have their ‘go to’ films, and if they are Star Wars or LOTR then that’s fine because they’re both masterpieces. But please, you should do yourself a favour and just watch as much as you can!

This is only since I’ve been tracking it on @letterboxd.social just over 3 years ago. Since then I would have seen probably almost 1000 new to me films, and before then rewatched so many films way more than this. This is difficult. And difficult not just because of ‘Star Wars’ and ‘LOTR’ 🙃
