Childcare in most major cities costs more than rent. That's not a personal finance tip, that's just the reality a lot of people are navigating. Not having that expense changes what's possible. For some people that's travel. For others it's just breathing room.

The audacity of a society that makes childcare unaffordable and then acts shocked women aren't lining up to have kids.

I questioned whether I wanted children, and these 50 questions gave me the clarity to actually decide instead of just going with the script. I gathered them all together because this choice matters too much to rush.

Turns out "selfish" just means I made a choice that had nothing to do with you.

They are so "pro-life" that they're also against paid maternity leave, subsidized childcare, and universal healthcare.

The same people who told me I'd regret not having kids have been complaining about their kids to me for a decade.

They all romanticize “tradition,” but always forget to mention how often it was built on women’s unpaid labor.

Childfree women are expected to be endlessly available at work, endlessly available for family events, endlessly available to help everyone else manage their lives. Turns out not having children does not actually mean I have infinite time. It means I chose how to spend mine.

The assumption that childfree women don't care about children or education or the future is one of the most exhausting misconceptions I deal with. I care deeply. I just don't have to be a mother for that to be true.

Childfree doesn't mean I've checked out of the future. I'm over here furious about book bans, gutted school budgets, and kids who can't access a decent education. You don't have to be a parent to give a damn.
