Found out early today that a good buddy from the shelter is going to be living in the same complex as the doggo friends I walk! Found out later today that said buddy hadn't gone home YET, so we spent a bunch of time together in his kennel and got him to go full nap mode in my lap~

Just terribly amusing to me having my Fornite Festival band randomized into three pieces of prime fur bait and *record scratch* an anthropomorphic mess of cables with a video game controller for a head playing a drum kit.

Special handling level small dog last week: Used slip lead, uncertain, awkward about getting pet Same dog this week: Excited, climbing, licks everywhere, needed SO much petting So apparently I "made it into his friends circle" big time. Which was, in fact, the goal last week, so yay team!

Seems to me that as we got within reach of fall and have now officially entered it, all the crows swapped out "molting season" for "increasingly brave insistence on getting as much free food as possible." So now everyone's being very bold and getting closer and I get extra attention/swarmed.

Got some re-roofing going on today, and you can see big shadows of the people on the roof cast onto the branches and trunk of a tree in the backyard, and it looks REAL NEAT. Also it's super loud though, which is not so neat at all.

Arknights Chapter 15 mechanics are clearly on drugs and I kind of love it.

Coming home through the park, reach the exit, three crows come up. Me: "So where were you guys this morning?" Crows: "Do you have cheese?" Me: "Yes." Crows: "GUYS, HE'S GOT CHEESE!!!" Tens of neighborhood crows appear, and my question goes forever unanswered. It do be like that sometimes.

Meanwhile, in another part of town, bribing my crow bestie so I can take pics of the eternal bad hair day that is molting season.

Heard a giant crow commotion somewhere far in the distance as I headed out, somewhere along the way a call went out about my presence and tons of my crow friends broke off from hundreds of feet away to swarm towards me instead. Hilarious sight to behold. Here's some of them after they arrived.

NGL my favorite part of permanent Reclamation Algorithm was when I realized Nymph didn't exist when it came out and then found out she could just permastall the stupid final boss enemy with fear. They cooked up a lot of really awful enemy designs for that mode and I am glad to be done with them.

Finished up the main Reclamation Algorithm story, and there's HOW many pages worth of rewards left??? Good lord, what were they thinking? There is not NEARLY EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO enough left to actually do in that mode to obtain the points even for a FRACTION of those pages. IT'S GLOWSTICK TIME.

Imagining an alternative timeline where instead of pngtubers they have giftubers and some people unironically call them "jif-tubers".

Intelligence is knowing that Entelechia is worse than Executor alter and has a bad module. Wisdom is understanding just how wonderful using her S2 is. I feel bad that people felt like they needed to skip her, that skill is absolutely fun as HECK! Globally deployable twin blender go BRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Ok there, I now have literally every unit currently available in Global Arknights, because I finally went and got Kestral. And without being a whale, and also starting right before Chalter! Some luck involved as I got Dusk, W, and Rosmontis off rate. Sparked a few more. Bought a few vouchers.

Finally touching Reclamation Algorithm for the first time about a year after it initially released because I kinda want the rewards. Rolling my eyes at there being a Bipolar Nanoflake every other shop page when apparently HG has silently cancelled use of the material like so many Sugar Lumps.

So many doggo frens from the first row of kennels got adpoted, but the new residents are all hard at work convincing me to give them all the treats at every opportunity. The cycle continues.

Also it's really weird how there has never, EVER in the history of Arknights been a reason to farm the pink mats as they have been infrequently used and WAY oversupplied since they entered the game. And now the next 6 months will need TONS of them without warning, and no event farms after this one.

Me: *defeats the new event boss with Lappland alter/Yu, having no idea what the fight even was because basically nothing noteworthy happened and I just won* Other people: "New event boss fucking over Lappland alter/Goldenglow/Yu wth" Me awaiting EX stages: "Haha, I'm in danger."

Necrass S3 unit just drilling three squares ahead occasionally for the hell of it, like what? Not a comment on the strength of it, just the 3 tiles forward drill-sword skill being so very, very extra.

Checking out a video on the fixed Vigil Y module for SUPERIOR skill 1 and huh, that actually looks really nice for maintaining the wolves despite being the "less defensive" option. Good offense best defense etc. I didn't even watch the S3 stuff cuz who needs that noise? S1 best Vigil skill forever.

Internal dialogue on non-niche IS5 d16 run: "Is my free Rosmontis on the right module?" "Is she destroying everything?" "...no?" "Well, there's your answer." So anyway, I swapped modules and then eventually won. Post-expansions IS5 tho is just... ugh...

Checked the attic vents, birb is back for the night, one vent over. Its tail feathers move just a little as it breathes in its sleep. Very precious. Birb meanwhile would probably be like "I am a fully grown adult smallbirb and there is nothing 'precious' about me, I'm just sleeping!"

He had a cone this week, which initially afforded me protection from aggressive face licks while sitting and cornered. Until it didn't anymore, and just helped him contain me further. Hard to get good pictures because he is usually trapping me against the gate in the corner if I'm not petting him.

Saw someone's tail feathers sticking out of an attic vent when I went out to drop some food off for the crows in the early AM. Came back later, it was empty, which means ALL of that was the birb. Thus, I conclude that birbs get a massive case of bed head at night.

Nowell acquired for Barknights (status protection!) and then eventually Entelechia, though before both I got another Vulpisfoglia pot and now she heals faster, so that's cool too. Now I have some vague amount of protection against Ubi bona somnia misplays! Though probably not ever enough...

Crow logic be like: "He tosses us food, he tossed out something I have NEVER seen before that is larger than the cheese pieces, IT IS TOP PRIORITY I MUST GET IT BEFORE ANYONE ELSE!!!" In other words, crow logic is both relatable and CORRECT.

The two most noticeable types of new arrivals at the shelter: "I don't know where I am and I'm scared..." and "I don't know who you are BUT LETS PARTY!"

Started out with a dog that looked like he didn't want anything to do with anyone. Got him relaxed and warmed up to me, we took a walk, and he was happy and didn't want me to go. Kept looking to me as I went about my kennel business. Came back at end of shift and he was crazy and all over me!

Crow sense went off after getting off the bus, which is across the highway from where my favorite pair lives. Looked around, nobody near me, nobody over there, looked again and the female is on a collision course because she can't wait for me to get over there.
